Position Overview:
The 5th Grade ELA Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned to state standards, with an emphasis on literacy, reading comprehension, writing, and grammar. The ideal candidate will incorporate the arts into their curriculum and foster a dynamic, student-centered learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging ELA lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum
- Integrate arts into daily instruction to enhance learning
- Foster a classroom culture that encourages student voice, creativity, and collaboration
- Assess student progress regularly and differentiate instruction to meet individual needs
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support school-wide learning goals
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Participate in professional development and school events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education
- Valid Arkansas teaching certification for elementary grades (with ELA endorsement preferred)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Experience or interest in arts integration
- Passion for working with upper elementary students and developing literacy skills
