Position Overview: The ideal candidate will bring social studies to life by engaging students in critical thinking, historical inquiry, and real-world application with an arts emphasis. This position also includes teaching career development skills to help students explore personal strengths, career options, and goal setting.
Responsibilities:
- Teach middle school social studies aligned with state standards
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons on career readiness and development
- Integrate technology and arts, project-based learning, and community connections
- Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages student participation and growth
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to support student achievement
Qualifications:
- Valid Arkansas Teaching License with appropriate endorsements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, or related field
- Experience teaching middle school students (preferred)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Willing to acquire the 418 - Career Development Endorsement
