Job Purpose:

 

Responsible for instructing students in an elementary school in Math. Creates lesson plans, administers praise and constructive criticism, instructs students in mathematic subjects, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program.  Administers informal and formal assessments.  This position directly reports to the Elementary Principal.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.  Serve on committees and assists in school or community functions.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Working Conditions:

 

Usually work indoors in classrooms. However, sometimes you may teach outdoors or supervise playgrounds. Work very near others, within a few feet or less. Working with young children often entails close contact. Are exposed to usual childhood medical conditions and typical K-6 environments.

Supervision Exercised: Supervises classroom and students and volunteers.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in appropriate major or course of study.  Valid Teaching License.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Education: Valid teaching license for grade level and subject area assigned. Meets requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher designation, if applicable to the teaching assignment.  Bachelor’s degree along with an Arkansas Teaching License or Certificate.
